The most appallingly intimidating idiosyncratic of them all was Edward Thatch, or Teach, otherwise recognized thanks to Blackbeard. Virginia’s Governor, Alexander Spotswood, decided enough was enough and sent a vague of the manageable Navy to hunt him down. This they did, and in a particularly brutal battle at Ocracoke Inlet on November 23rd. 1718, Blackbeard met his end. Even so, the navy had to response difficile for it. It was said that he had at least five musket balls fix him again 20 sword cuts before he sometime breathed his pursue.
