GCSE Mathematics – Tips and suggestions to help you succeed

If you do nothing else, read this document carefully. Especially important is the advice at the bottom of the page in the review itself.

Be prepared!

Have sharpened the pens and pencils on the list. Do not use pens that leak or wide boards. In the same way, do not use preventive new pens. You may be disappointed. Use a pencil that you know is reliable.

Write clearly!

You could be the next Einstein or Dirac, but unless you write clearly that you never know! Anything that the examiner can not read that he / she can not dial. If you are a poor writer, please take the time to write well.

Read the question!

This is no time lost. Read the whole question once to get a rough idea of what it is. Then read it again from the beginning – slowly. It’s a good idea to mark off each line, including information on diagrams. Do not start until you are sure to understand fully what was asked.

Be exact!

Again, read the question! If you order for 2 or 3 decimal digits, then that is what he wants. Before moving to the next question, check your answer with the original question.

Simultaneous equations

The answers to these types of exam questions tend to be nice round number. If you have a decimal point, usually ending in 5, but these are rare. Answers with a line of decimals are probably wrong, so check for errors.

% Inverse questions

It’s’ look back problems. With the current values contained in the question, you have to calculate some of the original value before the decrease / increase occurred. Again, the answers tend to be rounded numbers. If you receive a train of decimals, check again in his work.

Probability

Just check that your answer is between 1 and 0, and of course, no negative values.

Mean

The common sense here! Make sure the number is not dumb – too high / low, and that is between the maximum and minimum values, and not outside.

Rounding

Not collect the numbers on the calculator display unnecessarily. If you do, and the calculation has a number of stages, that final answer is incorrect.

Quadratic equations

An important question for decimal, or indicates that you must use the quadratic formula.

Pythagoras

Look at your answer. You should never take longer than the hypotenuse.

Trigonometry

The common sense here. Find answers silly. Again, the length should not be longer than the hypotenuse.

The use of bold

This means that the issue is not simple. Bold is a signal to read the question carefully, so you understand exactly what is asked.

Materials

Paper is useful for the rotation of the forms. Remember if you have forgotten something, do not worry. Put your hand and wait. The guard was provided with the item.

Your responses

small-write
show all workers
the use of words to describe their calculation / equation changes
-where space is at a premium, draw a vertical line and work on both sides of it, rather than working through the expansion of a page

Review

Do not work late the night before, but to get up early to go through final review notes.

Revise until you are told to enter the examination room, but please do not bring any review of materials in the examination room itself. Leave the bag outside.

Go quickly through reading or scanned paper to get an idea of what is asked.

His way of working through the paper. If you find any questions particularly formidable, not to him. Back to it later. Lose valuable time that is with a question. Easy to get marks in the bag first.

When you finish not sit idly by watching the roof! That have not been 100%! There are some brands had not been. Spend until the last minute through the paper carefully for errors. Trust me. There will be some!
