Six of Physical Education Games and Activities You Love elementary students

by benny on September 1, 2009

Physical education games described in this article can be reproduced at the beginning of gym class as part of an exercise in heat, during the period wholly or partly devoted to games and physical education activities or at the end of the class exercises as part of cooling. Besides the obvious benefits of providing good exercise, the fight against obesity and the development of motor skills, other skills that I wanted to show my students when they play these games are cooperation, sportsmanship and fun.

Here are 6 examples of physical education games and I enjoyed my students.

1. Head to Head

The formation of dispersion (possibly in a large circle) with partners. An odd player is in the center and alternating between calling "Face to Face" and "Back to Back". Students take positions accordingly. When called "Changes", students must find new partners and the middle player tries to get one. The student left without a partner goes to the center and gives the orders. If there is the "strange", then I play too.

2. Tag Partner

All but two of students in the pair hook arms. One of the two that are free is "he" or the hunter and the other is the runner. The runner who tries to avoid being labeled by the embargo of arms to any member of any couple you choose. When it does, the third student in the group becomes the runner and must avoid being labeled. If the runner is tagged the runner and hunter reposition. To make the activity interesting, couples need to run and turn to avoid the runner. For many students can not be more than one runner and hunter.

3. Take the cane

Have the students form a circle, or divide the class into two and make two circles. Each student has a number 1 to the end. A student is "It" and is in the center of the circle, holding a stick or yard / meter stick with one end on the floor. This student calls out one of the numbers and lets go of the cane. The student whose number is called, take the cane before it hits the ground. If in him does not become "It".

4. Overpass

Divide the class into 2 teams, even (or 4 for a great class and run two games at once). Team 1 form a circle and each team member 2 is located between two members of team 1. 1-A team member has a ball (volleyball, football, soccer, etc.) and a member of Team 2 has the same type of ball (ball differentiate, color, etc.).

In the word "go", each team member passes the ball to their team members on their right (or left). The team that completes the circle with his ball gets a point.

The teacher can change the game, shouting "circle" (the student with the ball must run around the circle before passing the ball) or "zig-zag" or "dribble" and so I’m sure you get the idea . It’s fun.

5. Go and change

They have all the students in class, except one in a circle about 40 feet in diameter. The student who is "it" is at the center of the circle with a large (soft) ball.

To begin, "called out the names of two students in the circle and at the same time, throw the ball to a third student. The two students whose names were called, execute the exchange of places in the circle. The third student, to catch the ball, throws it back to "that." "It" then throws the ball in one of two students, trying to hit one before they can change places. If "it" succeeds in giving with one student who was beaten becomes "it." The game begins again with the new student that "it".

6. Netting

This game is played with two teams. A computer is the computer network and the other is fish. For starters, each computer is behind a goal line at opposite ends of the field. NET The team chooses a captain and joined hands in a line. The fish team runs free. At a signal, both teams run forward and the NET team tries to make a circle around as many fish as possible. Fish do not hide under the arms of the network, but if the network drops his hands, the fish can escape.

When the NET team has done its circle, the captain has the number of fish that were caught. The other team has now once a NET. These are just some of the activities of elementary physical education and games that my children participated during its gym. You’ll find many more by visiting my website. I hope you enjoy these games teaching because their students will love.
